BANGKOK (Reuters) - Hospitals and clinics in Thailand were barred from performing “cosmetic castration” on would-be “ladyboys” without the rigorous evaluation required for a sex change operation. بانكوك (رويترز) -- في المستشفيات والعيادات في تايلند تم منعهم من القيام "تجميليه الاخصاء" - من شأنه ان يكون على "ladyboys" دون تقييم دقيق المطلوبة لعملية تغيير الجنس.
The Public Health Ministry said doctors performing this quick operation would face up to six months in jail. وقد ذكرت وزارة الصحة العامة الاطباء القيام بهذه العملية ستواجه سريعه تصل الى ستة أشهر في السجن. It will be difficult to enforce this ban since it takes only 15-20 minutes to have the surgery, which can be done anywhere. وسيكون من الصعب فرض هذا الحظر لأنه يستغرق الامر سوى دقائق ل15-20 لها الجراحه ، والذي يمكن القيام به في أي مكان.
“Thailand is home to a large number of “ladyboys,” or “katoey” in Thai, a term that covers anything from a transvestite to a man who has undergone a full sex change,” reports Reuters.
